Whispers of Immortality

Aftermath
S01E13
Season 1 Episode 13

What an anti-climactic & terrible season finale.

They tried to explain all the different supernatural things with science using the multiverse & string theory. So I guess that was good for people who care about that stuff.

The brother & sister arguing was once again really poorly written. Don't any of those writers have kids?

The only positive thing is that the mom is gone, which means if this show gets renewed, she won't be meeting her military friends every episode. Not that it matters because I won't be watching another season of this, there is just no good reason to keep watching this.

Now That We Talk of Dying

Aftermath
S01E12
Season 1 Episode 12

For some reason they shifted the viewpoint of the show to these two investigators looking for Moondog from some fake agency that is supposed to be FEMA. He weirdly thinks the apocalypse is all one big conspiracy. It turns out Moondog is Captain Young of The Destiny.

They couldn't resist having Karen meet a fellow soldier. This time it's from Vietnam. It was really dumb, because people traveling through time is not an apocalypse myth. It would have been better if she was cocky about her air force credentials & the soldier had said that it didn't exist back then.

The Matt & Sarah scenes were terribly written. The world is ending, of course two teenagers would get physical, I can't believe they couldn't think of a better way to make it happen. Then Sarah runs away for no reason. The Dana & Brianna conversations are also terrible. Whoever wrote this must have been an only child.

"The one is many, but the many are one.”

Isn't that just the motto on our money: E. Pluribus Unum?

Where the Dead Men Lost Their Bones

Aftermath
S01E11
Season 1 Episode 11

This episode was terrible.

Everyone kept pointing guns at the father but they didn't shoot him. It made no sense. It would have been better if they had chased him around town so that they weren't just standing there threatening to shoot him. It also would have made the reporter saving him more believable.

They should have spent more time on that rapture storm, rapturing up all the people & how the reporter ended up in Idaho.

That lame gang of teenagers was awful. I wish the mom had shot them all & then the family had to defend themselves from the townspeople, that would have been much better.

I am really sick of the sisters' incredibly stupid conversations.

Hieronymo's Mad Againe

Aftermath
S01E10
Season 1 Episode 10

This episode was way better than the last one even though not much happened. They were trapped in that retirement home by the crazy nurse in Idaho. They didn't get any tetracycline for Josh but thankfully that nurse shut up Karen for a little while.

The only bad part was where they did the stupid girl power thing & hat Matt talk about how Dana & Brianna are better at video games than he is. It's such an obvious trope now, especially because it contradicts their characters.

It's funny that Dana pulled the "I'm claustrophobic" crap, but she went down the chute anyway.

The moon blew up! Unleashing cosmic destruction! Man's civilization is cast in ruins!

The Barbarous King

Aftermath
S01E09
Season 1 Episode 9

It's only episode 9 & they are already repeating themselves. Again, the family runs into some people & they pretend they are strangers & enemies, but the mom knows them. They could have just have the mom say they were headed to Grandpa's to tell him about Aunt Judy. That way they could still have the standoff with one of his underlings.

The murderous shape shifter could have been interesting but they wasted so much time on the sisters again. Then they seemed to have forgotten that time is "acting weird," they didn't even mention it.

They should be introducing a different religion's apocalypse myth each episode, at least the dad getting the blood fever might be interesting.

Here Is No Water But Only Rock

Aftermath
S01E08
Season 1 Episode 8

This is a crazy show with no rules, no purpose or goal & that's been ok so far, but this episdode was terrible.

After talking about how nobody could survive the volcano, the dad leaves the shelter to get Dana & they hang out under the RV. I'm pretty sure lava would flow on the ground & melt them to death. Then they decided to make her suddenly claustrophobic but only on her face. She was under an RV, she has been in the RV & never showed signs of claustrophobia, it didn't make any sense.

Then the brother was panicking trying to get out of the shelter for no good reason instead of waiting & he actually lit a fire wasting their oxygen. It was really stupid.

The mom & her hallucaination about the scientist & the bullet & the excaped prisoner she shot was also terrible. She's a soldier & was justified in shooting those criminals, the guilt was stupid.

What a waste of an episode. It would have been better if they just started the episode after the volcanic explosion with them trying to find the mom & spent more time on the road getting to their destroyed farm.

What the Thunder Said

Aftermath
S01E07
Season 1 episode 7

Karen & her lame interview of the soldier boy. He's 26! I didn't realize he was that old because actors play all sorts of ages. How does that guy find that teen girl attractive? He's a pedophile.

That monk turned out to be a real monk. He was cool but he killed that sniper. How does he justify that?

Stupid Jane. Now you are with your son.

I can't believe Matt was going to hang that girl. Although how stupid do you have to be to go mountain climbing during the apocalypse? They really shouldn't have wasted bullets when they were let go.

Madame Sosostris

Aftermath
S01E06
Season 1 Episode 6

As I suspected, every single apocalypse myth is coming true at the same time.

Now there are shapeshifters or as that drunk bitch called them Aswang. Professor Douglas was a miserable misandrist & of course mangina copeland didn't call her on it, I guess because he wanted her paper. it probably contains all of them in one place so he doesn't have to research them all separately. It's too bad they didn't shoot her in the gut so she could suffer, but at least she died alone as most feminists will.

The mom was being annoying again, I did like when she shot those escaped convicts when they stupidly lied & said they killed her daughter..

It's too bad they killed Devyn, they could have killed him a better way. I'm not sure why they ended this episode the same way at the last one. Are they going to do that in the next one with the soldier boy? Computer punch cards??! Did they travel in time to the 60s?? What happened to the Banshee?

A Clatter and a Chatter

Aftermath
S01E05
Season 1 Episode 5

So the west coast is now 15 miles inland! Banshees & Jubokko are real. I've never even heard of Japanese vines before.

They barely reacted to all the people who probably drowned seeing as how 15 miles of coastline is under water now. The characters really need to start questioning how all of these myths are becoming real. Also I hope the show has some kind of explanation for it.

I like that Aunt Sally is dead. She was the stupidest person on this show. Constantly getting herself into trouble.

Wayne Brady is Judge Dredd! It was really dumb that Booner let Aunt Sally & the Fever head guy into the compound endangering everyone. It was really stupid. It also wasn't clear if they banged.

I didn't like that other people were calling them skinwalkers & I'm getting tired of Karen knowing every military guy in the apocalypse. It's been 2 episodes in a row of that.

Fever of the Bone

Aftermath
S01E04
Season 1 Episode 4

So glad Devyn and Brianna left that stupid cult & Aunt Sally was left behind. She's so stupid. She got infected with those flesh eating worms, there's a reason EMTs use gloves.

How could the mom be so dumb as to risk damaging their RV to go through that fence. They should have picked up bolt cutters when they were in that department store.

I also didn't like how the mom happened to know the same guy the military jerk knew.

Dana talking about guns didn't make any sense. She made such a big deal about picking up a gun & yet in the last episode she picked up a gun with no problem after her dad told her to leave the building.

In Our Empty Rooms

Aftermath
S01E03
Season 1 Episode 3

How stupid is Brianna? She thought she could approach 4 men in the apocalypse & they would just give her food. She still doesn't get that she's not queen bee in high school anymore. She's lucky she has that gun but she ended up wasting 3 bullets. Those psuedo-amish people are weird. She didn't even ask what they are. They might be some doomsday or sex cult. She even gave up her gun like a dummy.

So not only was Dana dumb to think that she could use a gun on those 3 men but those guys were also so dumb to think that the father would share a drink with them after they threatened his daughter.

It seems like suddenly supernatural things are now real? That dragon was back & now a water ballon guy & some Maori woman is around reclaiming artifacts? She took that little statue but if the grandpa was there he would have told her "it belongs in a museum!

Where did everyone in Seattle go? There is no way the 144k all live in Seattle. The news lady I think saw people flying? & then maybe a big monster?

In Rats Alley

Aftermath
S01E02
Season 1 Episode 2

Now solar flares right after the meteor. I liked that they showed the Aurora Borealis, when I went to Iceland I learned that they were due to solar flares, so that was cool.

I can't believe that attorney shot herself. What kind of lawyer is she, if a little setback like that, drives her to suicide.

Matt should have looked in Donny's mouth. They were told by the soldier that bleeding in the mouth meant people were infected.

Briana was pretty stupid to tell Tatiana she wouldn't let her use the phone, that was a dumb move, but she must be used to being a bitch at school.

Aunt Sally is already annoying. She released her neighbors chickens during the apocalypse, basically starving her neighbors, then she jumps out of the RV to help strangers. She better die soon.

WTF was that ending?! A dragon showed up?? How is that even possible??

RVL 6768

Aftermath
S01E01
Season 1 Episode 1

This was a pretty good 1st episode.

I like that it isn't just another zombie show. There are hurricanes, fishnados, asteroid strikes, earthquakes, etc. each episode could be a different natural disaster with skinwalker posessions thrown in. So this could be a good show.

I like that the girls were reacting like normal people would if they saw the things they were seeing. They were in shock & disbelief. The use of the radio instead of the tv was also good to describe how the world is ending. I really liked the use of a big band song as the trumpets from the book of Revelations.

I didn't like how Karen was incredulous when Joshua said it was the apocalypse even after she saw some guy fly in the air & drag her daughter away. The entire family barely mentioned that. Also she needs to break down at some point because she's taking all of this way too easily. Everyone else has been emotional.
