So Cathbad, the druid has a teacher. He should have asked to learn how to see into the future.

That monster just knocked all 4 Mystic Knights around like they were rag dolls. I'm surprised they didn't fight it until they defeated it. That would have made more sense. They still would have returned to Castle Kells to let the king know that Seethchenn was right about seeing the future.

It's a good thing Aideen doesn't trust anyone. So was Maeve really going to let Seethchenn have part of the kingdom? That doesn't make sense. I'm sure she planned on double crossing him, but we'll never know how she planned to defeat him.

I can't believe those subjects weren't doing what the king said. They should have been executed for openly defying the king.

I really hate that Midar guy & hate that Queen Maeve has to ask him for help. How did he get into the leprechaun city?

Jealous Aideen, she is a lot like Tinkerbell, she ended up making Deidre into a stone statue! Maybe Rohan shouldn't be so rude to her. I hope he gets shrunk to her size in a future episode, that'll teach him.

I like that Ivar & Angus used their gauntlets to shoot lasers at The Guardians of Temra but I'm not going to buy a gauntlet.

Tyrune Returns

I was shocked that Angus threw the spell into the fire, but luckily it worked out by destroying the chains on Pyre so it could fight Tyrune. 

It's too bad we didn't see more of the fight between the two dragons, but we did see Rohan riding Pyre. That was good.

I liked how each head of Tyrune shot a different color flame. The action figures have shields, why don't the knights?

Even though Torc was spreading dissent against the knights, the villagers weren't wrong, the Mystic Knights did release Tyrune to terrorize the countryside.

Rohan should have known not to listen to random people in the forest, especially after the last time he was tricked.

"You're trusting a mysterious knight who disappeared."

I can't believe they snuck into Queen Maeve's castle. Queen maeve knows how to use a sword! She even threw spears at Rohan. It was a pretty good fight scene considering that it was actually them & not stunt doubles.

Then she got them to release Tyrune, even after qqq warned them that King Ghidorah was imprisoned there. They ended up putting Pyre in chains!

Dragon's Fury

I like that Deidre used her own crossbow to shoot the antidote at Pyre instead of using the large bow that the villagers were using. It's good when they use their weapons instead of just shooting energy with them.

Now that Pyre was behaving like Drogon, the subjects of Kells are not going to trust him for awhile. 

I knew Maeve was using dragon's bane to control pyre. It's too bad it wasn't called something else.

War of the Little People

What were they thinking! They gave the Leprechaun king their weapons & armor. It also made no sense that they were putting their armor in the chest because the armor only appears when they each say their mantra.

The Leprechaun king turned out to be that dumb Mider, he's not really that interesting of a bad guy.

Aideen was really funny in this episode, she risked her life to save Rohan, not the other 3 Mystic Knights & she has no problem saying it in front of them. It's like they don't even exist.

I can't believe the soldiers of Temra didn't even try to fight the Mystic Knights, they just ran away as soon as they saw the Knights.

Draganta

What? Rohan is Draganta? Although it makes sense that it's Rohan, he's the fire knight & is riding the dragon.

It was funny how Queen Maeve turned the knights against each other cause they were jealous they each wasn't Draganta. It's too bad that a little water can cancel the bewitchment.
I'm not sure why the soldiers of Temra turned & ran away instead of providing back up for The Sentinels when they were fighting the knights.

Since when can Aideeen teleport objects?

The Taming of Pyre Pt. 2

I'm surprised that Angus went to get that gold. He lives in the castle, does he even need it? It's a good thing Aideen warned them about the Pixie Field. I liked how they used it to capture the Sentinels of Temra. I didn't realize their weapons were frozen because they were frozen with the Sentinels.

The used King Fin Varra's advice about turtles & let Pyre tire himself out. I like how Rohan came to the rescue & cleared out the Sentinels of Temra at the end.

Not that they have Pyre & their armor, they can go find Draganta.

The Taming of Pyre Pt. 1

Season 1 Episode 7

This was a pretty good episode.

It was like "Skeletor's Victory" when Flogg & Skeletor took over Primus in The New Adventures of He-Man. Not only did Queen Maeve beat King Conchobar's men but the Four Sentinels of Temra were able to outsmart & beat the Mystic Knights! I didn't expect that to happen. I guess it makes sense for it to happen at the beginning while they are still learning how to fight & use their powers. Although Queen Maeve should have pressed on & taken the Castle of Kells.

I liked that all 4 of the bad guys were here to fight the Mystic Knights. The Ice Lord of Temra, The Lightning Bat of Temra, The Sea Serpent of Temra & The Rock Wolf of Temra!

I liked that Aideen is like Tinkerbell & told Deirdre that the turtles don't bite. I didn't realize that Queen Maeve owed her power to that fairy Mider & his Rune Stone. I think that's lame. I hope she kills him.

S01E06

Earth beneath me!

Angus got his armor and he didn't take any shortcuts even though he tried and he was even tempted by an evil fairy. Queen Maeves evil boy Fairy appeared to Angus as a girl in this episode. The knights should have realized that those soldiers were imposters because they didn't recognize the Princess.

Were they fighting that Minotaur (Bull of Temra) for hours because Angus was able to ride out to the Rock Wolf, imprison him and ride back with his armor while they were still fighting the Bull of Temra in Queen Maeves castle.

Now that they all have their arrmor they can go find the dragon.

Ivar and the Sea Serpent

They are going to have to deal with this Ivar thing & his quest soon. If they don't, he's basically a bad prince for staying in Kells & never returning to his kingdom.

Maybe the mystic knights will all go to his land or maybe he will get the cup & return to Kells. Either way, they need a better explanation for him staying with the knights.

That cyclops was pretty cool.

I wish he didn't defeat the Sea Serpent so easily. I don't like the way he spun the trident each time he shot an energy bolt.

Tash Hound of Temra

Rohan pulled out his new armor to fight the non-cerberus. But luckily Aideen was able to get help from Deirdre & her new armor. After she fought the Lightning Bat she was able to say her phrase "Air above me."

I like how Rohan was not going to give up his sword, because there still wasn't a peace treaty. Trusting, but not naive. I liked that the king & Cathbad used Queen Maeve's deception as a teaching moment.

It looks like Aideen the fairy is part of the team, they should have made an action figure of her.

The Fire Dragon of Dare

S01E03

They tried to tame the fire dragon & failed. The Leprechauns told them they need armor to get the dragon & then they can find the warrior. So it's been spelled out for them & they realized they need to follow the king's instructions.

Rohan got his armor after fighting the Ice Lord of Temra, which was an ok fight. The Ice Lord looked pretty good & so did the rock monster that Ivar, Deirdre & Angus fought.

I'm glad they are getting their powers slowly, I just wish I had better quality video.

Tir Na Nóg

Tir Na Nóg is where the little people live. I don't know why they weren't called Leprechauns. They are Irish, have a lot of gold & are tiny. 

The Elf king gave them their weapons, which were cool, but Rohan's sword shot energy at the invaders. It didn't bother me that much because the 4 of them: Rohan, Angus, Ivar & Deirdre fought Queen Maeve's invaders using their weapons like normal people before they used the mystical energy.

They still haven't found the warrior who will save them.

Legend of the Ancient Scroll

This series was not released on DVD in America but I was able to buy a DVD set of episodes that are just transfers from VHS someone recorded off the tv at NYCC.

I like that it isn't campy & it's not a Super Sentai with bad-dubbing. It's only the 1st episode & we are getting to know our 4 heroes as they start their quest to save Kells

The CGI is of course old & it was made for kids so there isn't much violence. Hopefully there will be fighting in each episode like most Super Sentai shows.
