The Orville
S01E12
Season 1 Episode 12
That Mochlan game was pretty funny, especially cause he won by being stabbed.
I can't believe they sent Isaac onto that planet for 700 years. I would think his existence alone would do more contamination than Kelley curing 1 little girl. Why would they even worship her, it's not like she healed a bunch of people. It's also a little weird that they made it seem like only primitive people believe in a god.
That planet did look really cool when it showed up the last time.
Kelly was being over dramatic when she talked about compromising the captain. He did that with Alarra when she should have been court-martialed in Firestorm. When Alarra was in command she didn't obey orders either. The Orville does not follow the rules.

New Dimensions
The Orville
S01E11
Season 1 Episode 11
I was thinking of Flatlands as soon as they mentioned 2 dimensional space!!! I read that! So cool, but wouldn't the Orville flying through their space have pushed everything out of the way destroying everything in it's path? They weren't following those colored pathways.
Whoa, Yaphit filed a report. I can understand why though, he's lucky that Bortis wasn't able to digest him. That would have been worse than when Malloy lost his leg. Considering that the doctor threatened him with an official reprimand that just opened the door for him to do it too. Isaac & the elevator guy were so funny.
The captain finally found out that Kelly got him the ship. At least it wasn't as nefarious a reason as I was afraid it might be. She was just trying to atone. So that turned out better than I expected. This is not Arrow!!

Firestorm
The Orville
S01E10
Season 1 Episode 10
This was a good episode, I had not idea it was all common fears. I guess a lot of those things don't really affect me. But throughout the episode I could not figure out what was happening. I thought maybe there was an alien that was making those things show up.
It was pretty shocking when doctor Finn killed nurse Park.
Lt. Katan sure does run around a lot on this show. I like that they are giving her these episodes to learn how to be an officer. I didn't like how quickly they forgave her for breaking all of those regulations. Directive 38 & lying to the doctor is really serious.
Her dad is the Emergency Medical Hologram!

Into the Fold
The Orville
S01E08
Season 1 Episode 8
Isaac's story was really funny.
"If you wish, I will vaporize them."
At first I was shocked that the doctor killed that dude from the gamma quadrant but then I realized she was right, her kids were in danger & there was no reasoning with him because he didn't take her to get the med-kit. She knew he was lonely & that he was going to keep her there forever as his bride. This show is so good because of stuff like that.
It's too bad about the people with the pox, especially because she did find a cure.

Majority Rule
The Orville
S01E07
Season 1 Episode 7
This episode was pretty funny but it was a little too much like the real world. With your life being destroyed because some people are offended by stupid things & judging everyone. With apology tours & up & downvoting. What a nightmare.
The actor who plays Lt. John Lamarr sucks. He was the same one-note, sorta annoyed, not caring, street-wise reaction to everything. He didn't seem scared when his life was in danger or incredulous with the talk shows. He wasn't even playing dumb with the publicity officer. He's a bad actor, i guess he's just a comedian.
So they don't have money & also a prime directive. They don't have teleporters but But the shuttles have cloaking devices!? What?!

Krill
The Orville
S01E06
Season 1 Episode 6
The Krill aren't Space Vampires they're Narn!
The lunch scene was pretty funny.
"What happened to automatic fire suppression?!"
"That's the panel that caught fire!"
After a funny episode it got serious & dark at the end with all the Krill dying & then Teleya telling him she would make sure they would hate him. The union wanted a Krill bible, Ed got them an entire ship & some kids!
As soon as he saved the kids, I knew he made them all enemies. Sure, I guess there's some logic to saving them, it worked on Space: Above & Beyond, when they spared the babies, but did he think those kids were on the ship alone? Just like on his ship, the parents are on board. He killed their parents.

Pria
The Orville
S01E05
Season 1 Episode 5
That is not how time travel works. Every time that Furiosa traveled into the past, she created a new timeline. The events we watched took place, that's how The Orville survived the dark matter storm. She wouldn't just disappear as if she never traveled back in time, if that's true, then the ship would have been destroyed in the dark matter storm. I think they went with the Andromeda theory of time travel.
The practical jokes were really funny. They should have explained to Isaac that all humor is based on the misfortune of others.
Are they making Alara also have a crush on the captain? They hinted at it a few episodes ago & in this one, her & Kelly seemed a little bothered by Proa making goo goo eyes at him. The captain was wrong for not having better security.

If the Stars Should Appear
The Orville
S01E04
Season 1 Episode 4
Qui-Gon Jinn!! What the hell. I can't believe they got him to guest star on this show & it's only been 4 episodes.
A generation ship! It was really cool & enormous, like the size of New York state she said?! That is mind-boggling. Their ship looked like a turtle! It was a Flat Earth & turtles all the way down!
Basically these people are now the crew of the Voyager, lost in the Delta quadrant, 1000s of years from home. That is nuts, it would be so cool if they come back next season because their home planet has kept advancing.
A comm buoy was cool idea.
So what's a colony ship that Bortus had to defend it from a Krill attack? Is the Union starting colonies somewhere?

About a Girl
The Orville
S01E03
Season 1 Episode 3
Oh man, I started to cringe when they started talking about changing the baby's gender & the crew judging him, even though he is a literal alien from another planet who lays eggs!
I really like that in the end they had no choice but to respect the Moclan's culture even though they disagreed with it. That just brings up more questions. It turned out to be a really good episode with no easy answers.
The tribunal showed that the humans were total hypocrites with the circumcision question. "That's different" the doctor said. OMG.
"I am growing weary of my shipmates imposing their will upon my family."
Have you ever stopped to think that maybe they're right?
"I will decide what is best for my child!"
The holodeck with the pancho villa dance off was really funny. The rudolph cartoon was pretty funny too.
"Or you would have achieved glory guiding Santa Claus in Christmas Eve"

Command Performance
The Orville
S01E02
Season 1 Episode 2
This one was pretty good. The Calivons were really advanced, I guess it makes sense that they wouldn't bother with our culture. The reality show stuff was really funny. How did Alara even know about that?
I'm surprised that the only thing that made Alara change her mind was just 1 conversation in the cafeteria.
I knew Alara shouldn't have brought that probe aboard. She should have scanned it more. She seriously made a mess after being in command for just a few minutes, she was not exaggerating. Dr. Finn should have told her "my first duty is to the ship."
Oh no, a female Moclan. That's bad.

Old Wounds
Orville
S01E01
Season 1 Episode 1
This was a really good 1st episode. We got to see the captain & he met his senior officers & we learned who they all are. There was a real robot, not a human-like android. The slime jelly guy in the hallway was funny too. I really like how even though it's the future people still talk like normal. Sure, it's the military but they aren't being very rigid.
I like how they showed us the ship's point of view when they were fighting the Jem Ha'Dar. It was really dizzying. I like how the shuttles moved fast too. so much good stuff.
Arbor Day was better than wood.
I am really hating the ex-wife, not just because she cheated on him, but she requested to be his 1st officer? Why? And apparently she's the reason he was given command? Unless there is some big conspiracy that she knows about, I am really going to hate any other reason for that. It also doesn't make any sense. When he finds out, she will just end up breaking his heart again except this time it will be even worse.
