They thought they had a good idea to showcase JK Simmons's acting skills & he is good at being a cool spy & also a timid office drone, but that's not enough to make a show good. They don't even have the two characters in the same scene the way they did in Orphan Black.
So many things don't make any sense. The two worlds diverged 30 years ago. Finding a counterpart only helps for people who are older than 30. That girl wasn't 30 so it's nonsense that they would be looking for her.
Then there's the entire security part of the portal. They have all these measures for the dudes to talk to each other but then people from Earth 2 are able to just run around on Earth 1 with no supervision & no surveillance? How did the Earth 2 people get out of the building?
There's just too many stupid things on this show. It's not mysterious, it's dumb. Fringe did the two worlds idea a million times better than this show.
